April 27: Becky competed at the Level 10 Region 7 Championships in Newport News, VA yesterday and she came in 6th place all-around! This qualifies Becky to compete at the 2008 J.O. National Championships, congratulations Becky! Becky had a rough start to the competition with a fall on her reverse hecht on bars but instead of getting down on herself, Becky had an amazing comeback and nailed the rest of her routines to guarentee herself a second trip to Level 10 Nationals. Becky also displayed some upgrades in her routines including a double back dismount off beam, a full-in on floor, and a yurchenko layout full on vault. Becky will be competing at an elite qualifier next Saturday and J.O. Nationals two weeks after that. Check out Becky's schedule, results, and videos. Good luck, Becky!
March 30: Becky competed at the PA Level 10 State Championships today and finished 6th all-around and 4th on beam! Her all-around score was also high enough to qualify her to compete at Regionals next month. Becky started off the competition on vault where she did two solid yurchenko tuck fulls. She went on to bars where she struggled a little (bent knees and extra swings after full pirouette) but she stayed on and finished up the event strong. Becky stuck her beam routine nicely and nailed her floor routine, opening with a double pike and closing with a 2.5 twist. Great job, Becky and good luck on Friday! Becky will be testing elite (compulsaries and optionals) this Friday in Virginia. Also, congratulations to Parkettes! They are the 2008 Pennsylvania Level 10 Team State Champions! Check out today's results here.
December 10: Happy 15th Birthday, Becky! :)
December 2: Becky returned to competition last night at the Greater NY Invitational! She revealed a brand new floor routine for a 9.150 which earned her a bronze medal. She opened with a double pike and finished with a double twist. She fell on her series on beam (back handspring, back layout) but she still managed to clinch the bronze on that event as well. Congrats on your return to competition, Becky, and good luck in 2 weeks! Becky will be competing all-around for the first time since July 2006 at the Christmas on the Cheseapeake meet.
December 10: Happy 14th Birthday, Becky!
August 20: Becky competed at the National Elite Qualifier in Houston, TX last month and qualified to junior international elite level! She needed a 52.000 all-around to make it and she scored a 52.850, putting her in 9th place and earning her a first place finish on beam and a 2nd place finish on floor. This competition qualified Becky to compete at the US Classic in Kansas City, MO. Unfortunatly, Becky strained her hamstring in training the day before the competition and was unable to compete. |
