Learn a little more about Becky in her own words...
What is it like training at Parkettes with some of the top gymnasts in the country?
"Sometimes it can feel overwhelming thinking that one day I might be as good as them."
In your opinion, why is Parkettes such a successful gym?
"Parkettes is successful because all the coaches are totally dedicated to the sport of gymnastics. Parkettes also has a family-like atmosphere."
What is your favorite event and why?
"I love floor because I love going out in front of a crowd and showing off my new skills and improvements, while expressing myself."
What skill took you the longest to learn?
"I think my PAK on bars took the longest time to learn, I had a difficult time learning how to control it."
What have you learned from gymnastics?
"I’ve learned that dedication, discipline and independence are important to succeed."
What are your short term and long term goals in gymnastics?
"My short term goal is to make the 2007 US Classics and USA Championships. And my long term goal is to get a college scholarship and maybe someday compete at World Championships."
Who do you look up to as role models in and out of the gym?
"In the gym I look up to the older girls that give me advice and encouragement. Out of the gym I look up to my parents because, I know they will love me no matter what my decisions would be."
What is the toughest thing about gymnastics?
"Getting through injuries has been the toughest part of gymnastics."
Besides gymnastics, what do you like to do in your spare time?
"In my spare time I like to relax as much as possible. I like to hang out with friends and I love going shopping too. Often I enjoy going to the movies."
If you had one wish, what would it be?
"If I had one wish, my wish would be- to never fall in a meet again!"
What advice would you give to up-and-coming gymnasts?
"My advice is simple, don’t give up whatever comes your way, and just keep pushing through. Eventually it will pay off."
